Photos of the Falcon GT Club of WA _ XA GT.
The XA Falcon was the first all Australian Falcon, of which the range now included a 2 door coupe.
The XA GT continued with the 300hp 351C as the only engine available, either with 4 speed manual, or 3 speed auto transmission.
Ford were in the process of building the XA GTHO Phase IV, when "160 mph Supercars" became headlines in newspapers on the East Coast, and were basically forced by the Government to cease with any further involvement in the planned production of these cars. The Phase IV was dead, apart from a few which got away!
Many of the left over parts were installed in "special" XA GTs, now more commonly called the XA GT RPO83. At the time, in 1973, these "specials" were sold as normal GTs, at the standard price, and the buyer was unaware. Some time later, the information about the RPO83 became public.
