Simon flew to Melbourne in mid 2005 to buy this convertible, after hearing that it was for sale.
Although his preference was to buy a 1964 Galaxie Convertible to add to his stable, upon viewing the '63, he knew this car was for him. Part of the deal with the purchase, was a spare 1964 4 door sedan, and a truckload of spare parts, as if Simon didn't have enough already.
He had only 2 days to view a couple of potential convertible Galaxies, purchase this one, organise and load a shipping container for the '64 and all the spare parts, organise the transport of the convertible, and then fly back to Perth to start at work on the Monday morning!
As you can imagine, hardly anything ever goes to plan, but eventually, after countless phone calls, the convertible did finally arrive in one piece, but I wont mention the condition of the container with extra car and spares!

Some time in the last 40 years, the car appears to have been semi restored, and the only change now is that Simon has had it lowered by 4" front and rear.
Now that the convertible has WA registration, in the near future, Simon will also fix up his fleet of '64 Galaxies, including possibly a stretch, and have the lot available for hire for weddings.

Simon reckons that if you own a convertible, then that's the way they should be driven. That's why you wont see a photo on this page with the roof up. Yo Simon, I hear ya!
