Jim's 2003 Yamaha R1 I first met Jim in mid 1980, when he came to one of the first Falcon GT Club meetings, riding shotgun with another friend, Greg, in his XT GT.
At the time, Jim drove an old rusted out XR Falcon ("Very little rust actually Dan!!" ... Jim.) and a XL 500 Honda dirt bike. It was obvious then, that he had a passion for Fords and motorcycles.
He progressed over the years, owning a very quick Vintage Burgandy coloured 351C '71 XY Fairmont, but realised early on, that if you wanna go fast, a motorbike is the only way to go. His Kawasaki 900 was his first taste of having a powerful road bike, followed by a '83 Kawasaki GPZ1100, a '86 Kawasaki GPZ1000RX and then a '91 Suzuki GSXR 1100 His current motorcycle is this 2003 Yamaha R1. Jim is the person behind my website. He designed the pages ("and adds ALL the new ones !!" ... Jim) here as you see them, and all I do is supply the content. It all started in mid 2003, just after I bought my BA XR8 Ute, that he suggested we do a few pages of my cars for a bit of a laugh. The website has evolved to what it is here, and in this case, Jim's Yamaha R1 earns the right for inclusion on these pages. (Even though it's not a car!!)

On a nice cruise with both bikes recently, Jim was leading, with "T" not far behind him. Jim pulled over to wait for "T", and he looked around to see "T"s helmet disappearing into the bush, with "T" fortunately still attached to it. The bike was a write off, but luckily "T" only suffered slight bruising. The photo below, was taken by a spy camera only moments before she went into the bush....... ![]()
Well, the insurance company came through and after a lot of searching, we found a 02 model, Liquid Silver R1 to replace the black one. It came fitted with a Yoshi pipe, a Power Commander and near new tyres. We've got a few mods in mind, a rear seat cowl first up, them maybe polished wheels like the old one.
In the background is my 06 model R1, fitted with GYT-R carbon fibre mufflers, Power Commander, rear seat cowl, rear fender eliminator and GYT-R frame sliders.
