Darryl's 1964 Galaxie Sedan

When it comes to a black 1964 Australian delivered Galaxie sedan, Darryl is the man.
When it comes to perfection, on that Galaxie, Darryl is the man.
When there is only one thing on a one eyed Galaxie owners mind, yes, Darryl is the top pick once again.

Darryl eats, sleeps, and breathes, when it comes to his dead original 1964 Galaxie.
In fact, don't ever ask him which is more important, his Galaxie or his family, because I think I know which one he would choose.
His car has all the right tags, markings and stickers.
They call him the "Trophy Hunter", I wonder why?

I have known Darryl since I formed the Ford Galaxie Club of WA, back in 1990. Along with Simon, whose cars are seen elsewhere on these pages, we are hoping to reform the Galaxie Club once again.

His '64 has practically been in the family from new, and has been maintained in pretty much original condition, only requiring the necessary repairs or restorations as needed. In fact, the only non original item I have noticed is the deletion of the tissue box, which makes the car look rather plain like a taxi, because as we all know, a tissue box is essential in the interior of a 1964 Galaxie.
OK, it might have twin exhaust, and oh, it's been lowered too, but it all enhances what Ford should have done back in the '60s. It now looks like a '64 Galaxie should, and alright, I'll forgive him for that missing tissue box!

Darryl is so obsessed with his car, he reckons Ford should never have bothered producing more Galaxies after 1964.
My answer to that is, in 1964 Ford were only practising, by 1970, they reached perfection.
So Mate, put a 427 SOHC in it, then if you beat me, then I'll put a sock in it!

Engine:	Original restored 390 FE big block Ford.
Transmission:	Ford Cruisomatic
Rear Axle:	9 inch
Wheels and Tyres:	Front and rear: Original steel Ford rims, with hub caps. Either white walls for show, or all black rubber to go.
Performance:	I mean, how fast can a stock 390 be? Drop a 427 in it, and then we can start talking performance.
