Simon's 1971 Galaxie 500 Hardtop
Simon bought his red 1971 Galaxie in 1990. Around that time, I had just painted my Galaxie matte black, so shortly after, Simon fronted with his car sporting the original red front now in flames, and the rear also in matte black. It was this paint scheme which inspired me to then re-do mine with a scalloped front end.

2003 comes along, and he sees a nice 1964 Galaxie XL Fastback for sale. His aim is to now re-build the ' 71, complete with new 400 motor [image 6] and sell it to finance the restoration of the ' 64.
At the moment it is stripped, the motor rebiult and most of rust is welded up, and all it needs now is some incentive!

FORD GALAXIE CLUB OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA
With quite a few friends of mine now owning Galaxies, it has been decided that we will now try to reform the Ford Galaxie Club of Western Australia again, after it's failure in the early 1990s. Please contact me with any enquiries.

Engine: 400ci Cleveland V8.
2V (small port) heads.
Transmission: C6 Auto
Rear Axle: 9 inch
Wheels and Tyres: Rear: 15 x 8
Front: 15 x 8
Cragar wheels.
Performance: Used to do good burnouts !

The Cops also liked Simon's paint job, which resulted in a vehicle defect sticker, resulting in a re-spray to all matte black.

His car remained like this for a couple of years until rust started to take over, so a few repair jobs were undertaken. Then the odd scrape and a sick engine, and various other projects came along, so Simon retired the car to the corner of his yard for nearly 10 years.
