1970 Galaxie 500 2 Door Sportsroof. This is my 1970 Galaxie 500 Sportsroof. After owning my 1965 Galaxie for about 18 months, I decided the only way to go was with a 2 door fastback Galaxie. After going to the 88 Summernats in Canberra, and checking out what was available over there, this is the car I came up with. It originally came from Washington, thought to be brought to Australia around 1977 for government use, and in 1988 I purchased it. It looked like a wedding car when I got it, but it didn't take long before I gave it a matt black paint job to toughen it up a little, a set of wheels, and a lowering job. Four variations later, and it now carries a front end painted in gloss Wild Violet scallops. The left to right hand drive conversion was done by the previous owner, and uses an Aussie 1971 Galaxie dash. It runs a warmed over 460, a shift kitted C6 auto, and a 3.25 nine inch. FORD GALAXIE CLUB OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA With quite a few friends of mine now owning Galaxies, it has been decided that we will now try to reform the Ford Galaxie Club of Western Australia again, after it's failure in the early 1990s. Please contact me with any enquiries.
